Several shoots from one seed

Postby Debbie Uy » Mon Apr 24, 2017 8:09 pm

I've planted an avocado seed a it started to grow in a small pot. It's now around 6 inches tall. I'm thinking of either planting it on the ground or a bigger pot and grow it in our deck. Not sure which is better. Moreover, my one seed sprouted 5 healthy stems, do I plant the whole seed with 5 stems in one go or do I separate the stems and plant then separately? I've looked in this site and other sites about avocados and almost always the pictures showed only one shoot from one seed. Please advise.

I'm new to this thing of planting from seed, but it's exciting. Haha

I am new to avocados as well, and I also have some seeds with more than one sprout. I'm not sure if the "extra" sprouts are suckers or if I should just leave them alone?
